Breaking news: Snead appears to be disparaging 49ers in mysterious social media posts.

Willie Snead IV, a nine-year NFL veteran, spent the last two seasons with the 49ers, making eight appearances. However, he seemed to suggest that his workload should have been heavier while he was in the Bay Area.

Snead posted on X, the website that was formerly known as Twitter, expressing his wish to rejoin a team where players are able to fight for roster spots. (Source: Niners Nation)

All I want is to return to a team where players can compete for a roster spot without fear. Over the past three years, I’ve felt nothing but entitled. Champions are bred by competition

Snead, who was a member of San Francisco’s practice squad for the majority of his time with the 49ers, wrote in another post that he wished he could have shared more of himself with The Faithful.

WhoDat Nation & Flock Fanz have always treated me well. A few actual ones. There is also a sizable fan base for The Faithful. All I could have wanted was to have offered you more of what I had to offer 💯.

During his two seasons in San Francisco, the 31-year-old receiver did not record a catch in any of the 49ers’ five postseason games. He concluded the 2023 season with two receptions for 14 yards. Snead was optimistic despite the small statistical totals, citing George Kittle’s words of encouragement.

As my dear friend @gkittle46 once said, “I’m going to keep playing until they kick me out of the league.” I’m passionate about what I do. I continue to possess an excessive amount of fuel and passion in my heart. Being a part of this league is a blessing.

Snead, who has played for the 49ers, Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, and New Orleans Saints, is still a free agent. He has not signed with a team this offseason. His remarks on X suggest that a reunion with the 49ers would be unexpected.
