According to a statement released by the Moore family early this morning, Leonard’s father, Dr. Leonard N. Moore, suffered a sudden heart attack late last night and was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
The family described the incident as “traumatic” and have requested prayers and support from fans and well-wishers as they navigate this difficult moment.
“Our family experienced an incredibly frightening night,” the statement read. “Leonard’s father, Dr. Leonard Moore, suffered a serious heart attack and is currently receiving medical attention. Leonard Moore, a rising sophomore cornerback for the Fighting Irish, is widely considered one of the team’s breakout stars. He earned national recognition in his freshman season and is expected to play a key role for Notre Dame this fall.
