Jack Ingram: A NASCAR Legacy That Endures
Jack Ingram’s name remains synonymous with excellence in NASCAR, especially within the Xfinity Series, where he carved out a legendary career. Starting in 1965, Ingram made his mark in the sport, accumulating 31 wins, 164 top-ten finishes, and securing two championships over his illustrious career. His success in the series earned him a spot in NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers list in 1998, and to this day, he holds the 6th most wins in Xfinity Series history.
Though Jack ran at the Cup level, his primary focus was on the Xfinity Series, where he not only excelled but became the inaugural champion of the series. His recognition has only grown with time, as he remains an icon of the sport.
Ingram’s contributions to NASCAR didn’t go unnoticed—he was inducted into both the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and the NASCAR Hall of Fame, solidifying his legacy as one of the sport’s greatest drivers.
Sadly, Jack Ingram passed away in 2021 at the age of 84. However, his influence on NASCAR continues to be felt today, and he will forever be remembered as a trailblazer in motorsports.
