Derek Jeter and CC Sabathia — two Yankees legends who once ruled the Bronx with leadership, fire, and grace — are now stepping up to leave a legacy far beyond the pinstripes.

In a bold and unprecedented move, Jeter and Sabathia have announced the creation of the Core Legacy Fund, a multimillion-dollar endowment aimed at supporting underprivileged youth through the New York Yankees Foundation. This initiative will fund scholarships, baseball clinics, and mentorship programs that empower the next generation of players and leaders — especially those from underserved communities.

“This is about passing the torch,” said Jeter, the Hall of Fame shortstop and former Yankees captain. “The Yankees shaped who we are. Now it’s our turn to help shape who’s next.”

Sabathia, known as much for his dominant fastball as for his authenticity and advocacy, added, “We’ve always said the Yankee name means more than wins. It’s about legacy, family, and opportunity. This is how we honor that.”

The Core Legacy Fund will partner with Bronx-area schools and youth organizations, offering pathways not just to the game of baseball, but to leadership, health, and education.
