Chase Briscoe Lands Dream Ride with Joe Gibbs Racing for 2025 NASCAR Cup Series
Chase Briscoe is set to begin an exciting new chapter in his NASCAR career by joining Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) for the 2025 Cup Series season. The 29-year-old driver will take over the No. 19 Toyota Camry, filling the seat vacated by retiring 2017 Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr.
The move comes in the wake of Stewart-Haas Racing’s announcement that it will shut down at the end of the 2024 season. With his future uncertain, Briscoe took initiative and contacted JGR President Dave Alpern to express his interest. Within days, Briscoe met with team owner Joe Gibbs and secured a multiyear deal.
Unlike many modern contracts, Briscoe’s agreement did not require him to bring sponsorship funding. Instead, JGR pursued him based purely on his performance, potential, and personality. “They just wanted me for me,” Briscoe said, reflecting on the rare opportunity.
Backed by Bass Pro Shops and Toyota Racing Development, Briscoe will look to make a strong impact as he transitions to one of NASCAR’s most competitive teams. With his grit and determination, expectations are high for his 2025 campaign.
As Joe Gibbs Racing strengthens its roster for the future, all eyes will be on Briscoe to see how he rises to the challenge in one of the sport’s most high-profile rides.
