PHOENIX, AZ โ In a heartfelt interview with local Arizona media this week, NBA Hall of Famer and legendary Phoenix Suns forward Charles Barkley reaffirmed his lifelong loyalty to the franchise that defined the peak of his career.
โPhoenix is home. The fans embraced me, the city embraced me, and Iโll always be a Suns guy at heart, no matter what,โ Barkley said during a special event commemorating the 1993 Western Conference Championship team. โWe didnโt win the title, but what we built here was special. That doesnโt go away. Iโll be a Suns fan until the day I die.โ
Barkley, who played four seasons with the Suns from 1992 to 1996 and won the NBA MVP in 1993, remains a beloved figure in the Valley. He led the team to its second NBA Finals appearance in franchise history and continues to be a vocal supporter of the team on Inside the NBA.
