Angel Reese Guarantees Playoff Berth for Chicago Sky After Record-Breaking Rookie Season
CHICAGO — Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is already calling her shot for the 2025 WNBA season: the playoffs are a lock.
Fresh off a historic rookie campaign, Reese took to Instagram following the New York Liberty’s 83–69 win over the Atlanta Dream to declare, “We will make the playoffs next year!! 🙏🏽😇”
Her confidence is well-earned. Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game in her debut season, racking up a WNBA-record 15 straight double-doubles and becoming the fastest player in league history to record 20 career double-doubles.
The Sky narrowly missed the postseason last year, falling just two games shy of the eighth seed. But with Reese leading a hungry, young core that includes Chennedy Carter and Kamilla Cardoso — and with nearly $1 million in cap space — Chicago is well-positioned for a strong playoff push.
With the 2025 season on the horizon, all eyes will be on Angel Reese and the Sky to see if this bold prediction becomes a
reality.
