Jeremiah Fears Reflects on Breakout Season and Brotherhood at Oklahoma
Norman, OK – After an electrifying freshman season with the Oklahoma Sooners, standout guard Jeremiah Fears took a moment to reflect on what he described as a year full of growth, resilience, and lifelong memories.
“Still kinda shocked the season’s over,” Fears shared in a heartfelt message. “But we went out fighting. I couldn’t ask for a better group of brothers and coaches. Bonds that will last a lifetime—through the ups and downs, we stayed together.”
Fears, who reclassified into the 2024 recruiting class and quickly became one of the most talked-about freshmen in college basketball, made an instant impact. From leading the Sooners to a Battle 4 Atlantis title to dropping 30 points on Michigan—something no Oklahoma true freshman had done since Trae Young—Fears’ poise and talent on the court turned heads nationwide.
He finished the season averaging 17.1 points, 4.1 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game, cementing his status as one of the top NBA prospects in the country.
While the season didn’t end in a championship run, the 6-foot-3 guard emphasized what made it all worth it: the brotherhood.
“Special group of guys,” he added. “Thank you, OU basketball.”
With Fears officially declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft, the Sooners will look to the future, while the freshman phenom carries the Oklahoma legacy forward into the pros.
